April 6th 2025:
Imagine ending the generational shame of diet culture in your family? Imagine raising children who have a positive relationship to food and their bodies? Maybe you want to end mealtime battles or need help with your picky eater or teen comparing their bodies to others? Believe me, I have been there. I have recovered from a 22 year Eating Disorder and am now a Yoga Instructor and Life Coach specialising in Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating. My life long goal is to help people heal their relationship with food and their body so that they do not need to go through the years of pain and regret that I did.
In this two hour talk, we will dive deep into the concept of how to Raise an Intuitive Eater in the world in which we live in. You will have a brief introduction into the 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating and how this can work for your family. We will examine the diet cycle and its implications on yourself and on your child/children. You will learn to empower yourself to trust your own body and that of your child’s despite all the negative messages out there. I will discuss ways in which you can nurture a positive food environment in the home and I will speak about the concept of Body Positivity. Perfect Parenting does not exist and I will explain why, using anecdotes from raising my own 3 children of 9, 6 and 3. I have made mistakes and in particular with my two girls when they were very young before I had completely healed my own relationship with food.
You will learn about emotional regulation and what this means in terms of raising our children and finally there will be a short discussion on supporting Intuitive Movement and Gentle Nutrition within the home.

April 13th 2025:
Another gorgeous day organised to get you through the Easter Holidays. We will be back at Cool Planet in the Powerscourt Estate for our mini day retreat in early April. This retreat will be all about springtime and opening up both the body and the mind and really working on building a lot of heat in the body!! We will come together to practice and uplifting 1.5 hour yoga flow with some deep release yin yoga postures to finish. Think lots of Sun Salutations and if we are lucky enough, we might even get to practice outside!! We will enjoy our gorgeous early lunch from the Bear Paw Deli which will be delivered to us in Cool Planet and some tea or coffee to finish. We will then drive to our walk location where we will enjoy the most beautiful of foraging walks and be led by Laura from Sugarloaf Botanics who will show us how she uses plants to make her gorgeous products. Our day begins at 9.30am and will finish at 3pm

April 25th-27th 2025:
The Final Days of Spring Retreat takes place in the historic 600 acres of forest and woodlands of Lisnavagh House in Carlow on April 25th-27th 2025. This is an invitation to turn towards summer and by turning inwards and shedding the layers of winter & spring. This will all be about renewing and opening up. Our yoga will be based on energising, awakening and opening up by day and slow focused liver sequencing Yin Yoga night. By giving your yourself a break from your daily routine and to tap into a space of calm and tranquility. It is about resting, going inwards so we build strength within the body & mind to set us up for the next few months of being out & about and in the world more than we had been through the hibernation of Autumn and Winter.
Join me for a weekend of nourishment and selfcare with yoga twice daily, Hatha/Vinyasa by morning, yin by night. Begin your day with a morning meditation, journaling, dipping in the lake and walking through the surrounding forests. Saturday night we will also have a powerful Sound bath and breathwork session followed by a small fire ceremony. Lisnavagh is on 600 acres so there is a lot of space to saunter around. There will be plenty of opportunity for alone time & space. All meals are also included in the price below. The beautiful studio space is fully equipped with mats, bolsters, blankets. There is also the opportunity to book in for a treatment during free time (at an extra cost).
Enjoy nourishment from the gardens of Lisnavagh as well as local, organic, vegetarian food. The options are to share but why not treat yourself to a single occupancy four poster bedroom. Lie back and take time and space for yourself. Big fires crackle in the Dining Room and in the Library each person will find comfy sofas to curl up in with a good book. This is a well earned "look after me" time and it is our aim to help each person to slow down their pace of life and rejuvenate their body by stepping away from worries and stresses.
Price:
Today you are paying a non-refundable deposit of €150 which secures your place on this retreat. The final payment is due by February 30th. There are both bedrooms in the main house and the Courtyard or stable bedrooms. The main house bedrooms are ultimate luxury, some are ensuite and some share a bathroom with a beautiful bath and/or shower. The Courtyard bedrooms are double with ensuite bathroom, The Courtyard bedrooms are priced as follows - single occupancy = €550 per person or shared = €500. The main house bedrooms are priced as follows single occupancy = €650 or shared €550. Please indicate in a private email which room you would like to occupy.
If you decide to come as a small group, there is also the option of a small self-catering cottage on the property. The cottage has two bedrooms - one double bed room, one small bedroom with bunk bed with double bed on bottom. The cottage also has one bathroom. The price per person for the cottage is €380 per person sharing so this may suit some better financially.

May 11th 2025:
The weather is heating up and we can take on a river swim perhaps at this stage! We are back to the gorgeous Cool Planet in The Powerscourt Estate in Enniskerry. We will meet to enjoy an hour and a half of summer energy building yoga and some cooling yin yoga postures. We will enjoy a gorgeous veggie feast onsite from Bear Paw deli, delivered to Cool Planet and some teas and coffee. We will then embark on our hike up the Djouice Lake Woodwalk with the option of a beautiful swim at the little waterfall and rockpool before enjoying our box of homemade goodies at the top and making our way back down to say farewell. You will leave relaxed and ready to return to your families both happy and renewed. These day retreats are so popular and book out fast so get clicking! May 18th 2025
Body Image Yin and Soundbath Healing Workshop:
We live in a world OBSESSED with how we look, with what we eat, with how we move our bodies. The advice is both conflicting and incredibly confusing. Come relax, restore, rebalance and turn the external noise down while listening to Cara's tips on how to try to learn to both accept and respect the body that we were given and all that it does for you as you practice Yin yoga poses associated with the liver, kidney and spleen meridians. You will set an intention that feels right for you, an affirmation with regards to how you want to feel about your body and hold on to this as you bask in the beautiful healing sounds and incredible voice led by Melanie. Enjoy homemade energy balls and raw snacks, herbal teas and chats to finish. This workshop begins at 3pm and will finish at 5pm, teas etc until 5.30pm.

June 8th 2025:
Once again, taking advantage of our good weather which often lasts just for April and May, we will hopefully be able to enjoy some glorious sunshine together!! On this mini day retreat, you will get to practice yoga closer to home from Rise up and Dance on the Southern Cross. We will do our hike up the Small Sugarloaf behind Kilruddery which will take between 2-2.5 hours. We will then practice our 1.5 hour hatha and yin restorative class before heading over to my home for a garden party of a veggie feast. I always make a big soup, a large summer salad and have lots of veggie charcuterie boards laid out to enjoy.
You will also will have my highly sought after homemade goodie box each for the top of the mountain to enjoy. To finish we will enjoy a sea swim and sauna for anyone brave enough! This day will come to an end at 3.45pm.
September 7th 2025:
Kids have gone back to school and you are well and truly shattered and in need of a break! The end of summer mini day retreat brings us back to Cool Planet. Enjoy a day of yoga, hiking, yummy food from Bear Paw Deli, giggles and chats. These are monthly retreats, and such popular days out. You will meet likeminded people, keen to take some time out for themselves and enjoy each others company, a 1.5 hour class of yoga, a 2.5-3 hour hike, warm cacao, boxes of homemade treats, a full veggie brunch. This retreat will be from Cool Planet who will provide the full veggie brunch before our hike up Djouce Mountain. Some hiking experience is necessary for this hike. The day begins at 9.15am and comes to an end at 3.45pm.

October 5th 2025:
Our next mini day retreat and Autumn grounding full day will take place from Bray. We will embark on our hike up the Great Sugarloaf before enjoying our box of homemade goodies at the top and making our way down to the studio Rise up and Dance on the Southern cross for our 1.5 hour hatha/vinyasa and yin yoga class.
We will enjoy a full vege feast from my home and then make our way to Greystones for an optional sauna with the Barrel Sauna in Greystones. You will leave relaxed and ready to slow down and hibernate during the Autumn and Winter months. These day retreats are so popular and book out fast so get clicking! I also prepare a gorgeous box of three raw and gluten free cakes/balls. The day begins at 9.15am and will come to an end at 3.30/45.

October 17th-19th 2025 Weekend Retreat:
How to support ourselves through Ayurveda during the seasons of Autumn and Winter.
Ayurveda is well known as the 'Sister Science of Yoga' and is a system of holistic healing that has been around for much longer than Western Medicine!, which is thought to have begun just 2000 years ago! Ayurveda has been here for 5000 years! Ayurveda essentially means the knowledge of life, the combination of science and the art of healthy living for longevity. During this weekend retreat come and delve more into the practice of Ayurveda and learn how to support our physical, emotional and spiritual selves in the transition from Autumn into Winter.

The Living Intuitively with Cara Retreat weekend will be filled with movement (walks, yoga, sea/lake swimming), amazing food, meditation and selfcare practices inspired by Ayurveda.
My retreat will tap into our feminine energy where you can expect both yin and yang movement classes, breath work, sound meditation, nature walks, women’s circle, journal work and optional sea/lake swimming. There will also be a short introduction to Ayurveda and how to incorporate practices into your daily life.
Arrival times Friday 18th: from 3pm to Sunday 20th 12pm.

SKY DOME YURT LIFE
There is nothing quite like staying in a Yurt. A simple yet magical dwelling with wooden lattice walls and radial rafters, it evokes a sense of the exotic. All Yurts are well-spaced ensuring seclusion and privacy. Each is luxuriously furnished with a comfortable seating area and they are individually styled with sheepskins, cosy Donegal tweed woollen blankets, heavy 15 Tog duvets, fluffed pillows and crisp white linen. All have beautiful views of lake, mountain and forest. There are 4 single beds per Yurt available.
November 9th 2025:
Our final mini day retreat of 2025 will take place from Bray. We will embark on our hike up Bray head and into Belmont before enjoying our box of homemade goodies at the top and making our way down to the studio Rise up and Dance on the Southern cross for our 1.5 hour hatha/vinyasa and yin yoga class. We will enjoy a full vege feast from my home and then make our way to Greystones for an optional sauna and cold plunge with The Barrel Sauna. You will leave relaxed and ready to take on the busy period of November and December.
